Miller Funeral Home

Our History

Miller Funeral Home was established by Frank L. Miller in August of 1939. Our original location was 112 North Fifth Street in West Dundee, just north of our present location. We have been located at 504 West Main Street since 1949.

Frank had a vision of offering caring, quality funeral service in a comfortable and homelike atmosphere. Early in 1973, after 34 years of serving the DundeeTownship Communities, Frank decided to sell his business and retire. In March of 1973, Frank passed away unexpectedly. In June of 1973, Tom and Irene Mullen took over the operation of Miller Funeral Home.

Following graduation from college and completing his apprenticeship, Tom Mullen, Jr. returned home in 1983 to join his parents in the operation of their family’s funeral home. Tom, Jr. worked along with his father until his father’s unexpected death in 2009.

Because Miller Funeral Home is locally and family owned and operated, we have the privilege of providing quality and compassionate funeral services to the DundeeTownship Communities. We do so without the “red tape", policies and procedures of national chain funeral homes.

We have many long- established personal and professional relationships within the DundeeTownship Communities. The Mullen family and funeral home staff are sensitive and attentive to the ever- changing and specific needs of the many families whom we have been honored and privileged to serve during our tenure of over 72 years.

We are recognized by our caring, professional and “attention to detail” service. We also take great and extreme pride in the level of our professional and technical abilities. Our funeral home facility is very home-like. It is warm, comfortable and handicap accessible.

We urge you to call upon us, for at-need or pre-need funeral solutions. Miller Funeral Home has long been the firm of choice for many West Dundee, East Dundee, Carpentersville, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, Algonquin, and Elgin families–and will continue to be, because of our commitment to provide caring, compassionate and affordable funeral and cremation services.

Our Mission Statement

My family and staff believe it is a privilege to guide and help families during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

Funeral Homes and the services they provide differ in quality, ethics, professionalism and cost…. As in any profession, quality of service and expertise differ from one professional to another.

Quality should be known and expected, not perceived.

You as well as your family deserve to receive the most professional, courteous, and ethical service a Licensed Funeral Director can perform.

Since 1939, Miller Funeral Home and the Mullen Family have offered funeral and cremation services with excellence and compassion to the families of the DundeeTownship Communities.
